The Significance of Child Education
from: WiseWay.info
An excellent education that is accessible to many brings forth a bright future and a stable economy for the society. By molding children to become literate and dependable individuals, a good education can guarantee that a child will learn how to critically judge the future challenges that will come their way. With the security of knowledge, they will be able to lead others and maintain or possibly expand a country’s economy.
With a good educational foundation, children can then have the luxury of qualifying to better schools of higher education. They can choose any profession they want. A good education is also a good ticket away from poverty. A child armed with it can reach his goals in life and possibly can give his children brighter future.
Compared to past decades, many more children today started their formal education at an early age. It has become an obsession that even at toddlerhood the child must be given all the things that will enhance his interest in learning. There are even food products today that claim that they can boost your child’s intelligence, and, more surprisingly, even IQ boosters are available in the market for babies that are still lounging in their mother’s womb.
Even certain genres of music, Mozart’s musical masterpieces for instance, are said to be capable of improving anybody’s brain acuity. The focus now is how to get your children be smarter than everybody else. Education has always been viewed as a gateway to success. And to get a high quality education, parents must be aware of his or her child’s educational needs.
In today’s “smart child” fad, more schools have raised the bar in quality education. Parents now push their children to go to school at the young age of 3 or 4. Though starting early doesn’t always mean success. The child’s learning must be in tempo with his cognitive, psychosocial, and physical development. Too much pressure to academically succeed, at a young age, will only cause your child large amounts of stress.
Though the standard of introduction of learning is believed to start in pre-schools and kindergartens, it does not mean that the family’s role in a child’s early education has reduced. With children under five years of age, parents play a central role in their early lives. Thus it is the parents who are the child’s first teachers. The educational background of parents, as studies have shown, are said to have an effect on their child’s eagerness to learn. Parents who are well-educated tend to put emphasis on the benefits of education. The parents are not only the first teachers of their children, but they are also their role model.
But in choosing the right school that will educate your child in his early years, you must be aware about the school’s facilities and teaching strategies. Qualities of a good school should include teachers with a good educational background and a constant update in new effective teaching plans; programs that includes parent involvement teaching; high teacher-student proportions; and a holistic emphasis on the child’s learning development (enhancement of cognitive, psychosocial, and physical skills).
To achieve a child’s full potential, be it in the academic field or everyday life, parents and teachers must help together in molding the child’s well-being. After all, the future of this world is in their hands.
